Pre-Procedure Instructions: Dermal or Soft Tissue Cosmetic Rejuvenation (Juvederm, Belotero, Restylane, Radiesse)

  • Avoid taking aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS, such as naproxen, ibuprofen, meloxicam, etc.), vitamin E, ginger, gingko, fish oil, ginseng and garlic 10-14 days prior to the procedure, as they may cause excessive bruising

  • Please tell you doctor if you have a history of severe allergic reactions or history of bleeding disorders or are on blood thinners. Please bring medication and allergy lists to your appointment.

After Care Instructions – What to Expect

  • Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, saunas or facials for the next 1-2 days as this may increase bruising and swelling
  • Ice packs may be applied for up to 10-15 minutes per hour for the first couple days to reduce swelling. Do NOT ice continuously.
  • Avoid sleeping with pressure directly to treatment areas. Sleeping propped up with a couple pillows may also reduce swelling.

  • Avoid dental work or teeth cleaning for the next 2 weeks
  • Bruising, swelling, tenderness, and redness may occur in the treatment area and may last for several days. Bruising may persist for 1-2 weeks. If the area appears dusky purple, white, or is unusually painful, please contact our clinic.
  • Treated areas may feel uneven, nodular, or appear asymmetrical. This is normal for the first 1-2 weeks, but please contact us if persistent.
  • If you had Radiesse, these particles are radiopaque and may be visible in xrays and CT scans. Inform your doctor if needed.
  • Gentle cleansing and daily sunscreen use is recommended. Make-up or concealer may be applied, but avoid if skin is broken open
