Rhinophyma
Rhinophyma is a nasal deformity caused by the excessive growth of sebaceous glands and connective tissue. Rosacea is the precursor condition to the later development of Rhinophyma. Affected patients are often subject to distress over their appearance and respiratory issues because the thickening of tissue can obstruct the nasal airways. Typical symptoms include flushed skin (both as a temporary blush or persistent redness), papules and pustules, and the lower two-thirds of the nose being more affected than the upper third. This condition can be categorized as minor, moderate, or major Rhinophyma and your doctor can help you with a treatment plan that addresses the severity of your condition.
